You Don't Need Big Goals




In times of uncertainty and possibly elevated stress, you do not need to set big goals right now.


Research shows that losing just a few pounds offers great benefits to your health.


You do not need to lose 50 pounds or look like a photoshopped image in a magazine to feel better.


Short movement breaks or 15-20 minute walks throughout your day can make a huge difference in your mood and overall health.


Being fit and healthy doesn’t happen by accident.


We must prioritize and schedule it every day.


And the act of prioritizing, planning and scheduling creates habits that you do day in and day out.


So, I challenge you to start where you are and set ONE daily habit today.


Plan for it, prioritize it, and schedule it.


Example: I will schedule three 15-min walks or movement breaks today - one in morning, one at lunch and one after dinner.


When you feel confident in your ability to complete the habit on a regular basis, set another.


Here are a few questions to guide you and to offer encouragement as you set these daily habits.


➡️ What do you think fit people do? How do they live? Fill in the blank: “Fit people do ______”


➡️ Is there anything holding me back or stopping me from making this change?


➡️ Is this a realistic and reasonable habit?


➡️ Am I ready, willing, and able to do this task?


➡️ What do I need to do/know in order to be successful?
